Event bidding procedure
Altogether 10 national federations have signalled their intention of organising European Championships in the 2012-14 period. These are:
2012 ECh for Men 18 | Austria, Czech Republic, Norway, Turkey |
2012 ECh for Men 20 | Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Slovenia, Turkey |
2013 ECh for Women 17 | Czech Republic, Norway |
2013 ECh for Women 19 | Czech Republic, Denmark, Switzerland |
Men's EHF EURO 2014 | Croatia, Denmark, France, Hungary |
Women's EHF EURO 2014 | Slovenia, Switzerland, Turkey |
The EHF Executive Committee has dealt with the European Championship organisation and confirmed the nations being interested in one or more events.
These nations will undergo a bidding procedure that will conclude at the EHF Congress in September 2010.
17 July 2009 | Dispatch of the Manual for Staging the EHF Euros in 2014 and the YAC Events in 2012 and 2013 together with the relevant specifications and forms by the EHF |
7 October 2009 | Applications available at the EHF Office |
23 October 2009 | Approval of applications by the EHF EXEC |
February to April 2010 | Site inspections |
April/May 2010 | Evaluation of Bids by the EHF |
May/June 2010 | Confirmation of Bids for the EHF Euros in 2014* and the YAC Events in 2012 and 2013 by the EXEC |
24/25 September 2010 | Allocation at the EHF Congress |
Please note that a motion will be presented for the 2009 EO Congress in October in Cyprus in order to change the procedure of allocating the the EHF Euro Events. Passing of the motion (thus awarding by the EHF Executive Committee) would require adapting the schedule for the bidding procedure of the 2014 events.
