The claims in the cases of Aihan Omer, Lemme/Ullrich and HC Metalurg will be dealt with on the level of the EHF Court of Arbitration.
Update on ECA cases
Claims were filed to the EHF Court of Arbitration (ECA) requesting the revision of the decisions made by the EHF Arbitration Tribunal in three cases related to attempts of manipulating EHF officials:
HC Metalurg/MKD was fined €4,000 for inadequate protection of EHF referees during an official competition match.
Frank Lemme and Bernd Ullrich/GER, EHF referees, were suspended for five years from all international handball competitions for serious professional misconduct.
Aihan Omer, former head coach of the Romanian men’s national team, was suspended for five years from all international handball competitions for attempting to manipulate EHF referees.
In these cases – and also in the disciplinary case of the Norwegian player Frank Loke – ECA proceedings are currently in progress. The public will be informed on the decision of the panels of arbitrators.
