Celebrating the Men’s 2010 EHF Handball EURO 2010, the EHF and adidas officially signed the agreement which runs until 2013 at a press conference in the Olympic Hall in Innsbruck today.
Under the agreement with the EHF, adidas will be the Official Outfitter for the EHF and the Official Match Ball Supplier for all EHF events. The partnership also includes the flagship club competition, the EHF Champions League, as well as women’s competitions, and junior and senior category events.
adidas and the EHF have been official partners since the foundation of the EHF. Over the past 18 years, the EHF and adidas have further developed their long-standing partnership, aiming to promote and develop handball in Europe in new and creative ways including special initiatives, projects and equipment support for the benefit of the least developed handball nations.
EHF President Tor Lian looks back on the successful past 18 years and forward to the future cooperation: “Handball has gone through an impressive development over the past two decades. adidas has always given a substantial contribution to this positive change and proved to be a most reliable partner. We are confident that the next chapter of our partnership will be just as successful.”
“adidas and the EHF share a long tradition of success and passion. European handball undoubtedly shows some of the best handball in the world and is for us the perfect platform to further highlight our presence in handball. We are excited to extend our successful partnership with the EHF and bring the game of handball to even more fans,” said Max van den Doel, Global Head of adidas Sports Marketing Team Sports.
EHF EURO 2010, the top national team event in European handball with worldwide media and TV coverage, is just another milestone in this partnership. adidas designed the “EURO ball” specifically for this event. The colour and design of the ball reflect the look and feel of the tournament. Furthermore, adidas supplies equipment for referees, event officials and volunteers ensuring an elegant and unified appearance for the EHF EURO 2010.
