István Madarász (1934-2010)

The European Handball Federation received the sad news of the passing away of István Madarász, who died at the age of 76.

The Hungarian had been an EHF Delegate from the very first season in 1993/94. He fulfilled this function in every single season up to 2001/02.

Beside that, Madarász had been a honorary member of the IHF (since 1992) and honorary president of the Hungarian Handball Federation (since 1993).

István Madarász was Secretary General of the Hungarian Handball Federation over two periods, between 1957 and 1962 as well as between 1974 and 1992.

Between 1964 and 1992 he was a member of the IHF Executive Committee and from 1972 to 1992 the President of the IHF Medical and Methodical Commission.

The EHF wishes to express its most sincere condolences to the family of the late sportsman.
