Bulatović joins the champions

Within a week of winning their first Women’s EHF Champions League title, Györi Audi ETO KC have added a major weapon to the team in the hunt for more trophies next season.

Securing the sevices of a player considered the best right back in the world, Katarina Bulatović, is a huge coup for the club.

Bulatović, who is finishing her season at Romanian club Oltchim Rm. Valcea, has signed a two year contract with the Hungarians.

“I'm glad to have signed a contract to a club who has just won the Champions League trophy.

“I am happy, because I have heard nothing but praise about Györ,” Katarina Bulatović exclusively told ehfCL.com.

For Katarina Bulatović, best athlete of Montenegro in 2012 together with Bojana Popović, Hungary will be her third experience with a club abroad.

Before joining Oltchim, Katarina played also in Denmark with Slagelse and won the EHF Champions League title in 2007.

She repeated that success with Budućnost in May of last year and will try to do it once again next season.

“I'm going to a club with big ambitions, and for me it will be a challenge to defend the European title,” added the 28-year-old.

Bulatović, who will be officially presented by the club on 29 May, was the second top goal scorer in Europe’s top flight with 90 goals, five less then top scorer,  Zsuzsanna Tomori from FTC Rail Cargo Hungária.

With Montenegro, Katarina became Olympic Games silver medalist in London and was chosen in the All-star team at the tournament, where she was top scorer with 53 goals.

Montenegro won the EHF EURO 2012 title in Serbia, where she was again the top scorer of the championship with 56 goals, second in assists and was chosen in the All-star team as the best right back.

Györi Audi ETO KC today also announced that the club signed a one year contract with Hungarian national team player, right wing Bernadett Bognár-Bódi, arriving from Dunaújvárosi Kohász KA.

Györi Audi ETO KC president Ernő Kelecsényi announced that French line player Raphaëlle Tervel will stay one more year, while right back Ágnes Hornyák will be back after she missed this season due to pregnancy.

“Perhaps it’s no exaggeration to claim that next season Györi Audi ETO KC will have it’s all-time most powerful team,” Kelecsényi said to Hungarian website kisalfold.hu.

As it was earlier confirmed, Montenegrin right wing Jovanka Radičevoć and Serbian middle back Andrea Lekić are leaving Györi Audi ETO KC and next season will play both for Macedonian club Vardar Skopje.
