EHF EURO 2016: Final tournament draw procedure released

Attention turns to the Women’s EHF EURO 2016 in December 2016 as Europe’s national teams compete for the Europe title in venues across Sweden.

The event’s preliminary round will be played in Stockholm, Malmö, Helsingborg and Kristianstad, main round in Helsingborg and Gothenburg and the finals in the Scandinavium Arena in Gothenburg.

With four rounds of qualification left to play, the procedure for the final tournament draw has now been released.

Participating teams will be seeded on the basis of the qualifications groups and rankings at EHF EURO 2014.

Sweden, as hosts, has the right to place one team in each venue.

The hosts themselves will start the tournament in Group A Stockholm. They have also decided (should these nations qualify for the event in December) that Poland will play in Group B in Kristianstad, Denmark in Group C in Malmö and Norway in Group D in Helsingborg.

The draw will take place in the Liseberg Theatre, located in the Liseberg Amusement Park at 13:00 hrs on Friday, 10 June 2016.

The complete draw procedure is available to download.
