New SELECT match balls presented
The stars of Europe’s top handball competitions will be playing with a new official ball from the start of the 2016/17 season. The new SELECT ball has been presented on the fringes of the VELUX EHF Champions League Group Phase and Women’s EHF Champions League Group Matches draw in Glostrup, Denmark.
The new ball will be used in all 208 matches in the men’s and in 108 matches in the women’s European top flight.
A four-year contract signed by the EHF and EHF Marketing GmbH with SELECT SPORT, which begins on 1 July 2016, will see the Danish company providing the official match ball also for other EHF competitions including Men’s and Women’s EHF Cup as well as the EHF’s flagship national team competition, the EHF European Championships.
A new and exclusive ball design will be presented for each competition on an annual basis for the duration of the contract. SELECT will offer the official match ball and replica versions for sale via leading sports retailers worldwide.

The new SELECT match ball is made of extremely hardwearing synthetic leather material.
A patented zero-wing bladder inside the ball ensures optimal roundness and specially developed foam gives the EHF match ball an extremely soft feel and great fit in the hand.
The ball is light and lively, but above all its constant balance ensures that there are no random bounces. In the best tradition of SELECT, all match balls are all hand-sewn.

Handball fans can now be the first to own the new ball – signed by the teams from this year’s VELUX EHF FINAL4 - by taking part in the competition on the EHF’s social media channels to be launched later this afternoon.
