June ends with a bang

The European Beach Tour 2017 sees a big weekend of action as June comes to an end, with 11 competitions staged in seven countries.

The Zagreb Open 2017 in Croatia and the Suances Cup ’17 in Spain kickstarted the weekend with throw-off on Thursday. Matches at the Zagreb Open 2017, taking place at Jarun Lake where the Beach Handball EURO 2017 was held, will be streamed live on the official Beach Handball Croatia website.

The Suances Cup features a total of 97 teams, all of which are from Spain, with 28 competing in the senior category. Games will be streamed live on the official Facebook page.

On Friday, eight more tournaments throw off: the fourth event on the PGNiG Summer Superliga 2017 calendar in Plock, Beach Handball Senec in Slovakia, BUEU Arena 1000 in Pontevedra, Garci Cup 2017 in Estarreja, And’Praia 2017 – VNGaia in Vila Nova de Gaia, Arena 500 Ciudad Real, XIII Torneio Sir 1st Maio – BH 2017 – S Pedro De Moel in Marinha Grande, and Vegoritis Lake 2017.

The Garci Cup is the biggest handball event in Portugal, with indoor handball played at the same time as the beach competition. The Cup features a total of 200 teams and 3,500 players, with 15 men’s and women’s sides from Spain and Portugal contesting the beach handball trophy. The beach handball event will also see U18, U15 and U12 teams on the sand.

Beach Handball Senec takes place in conjunction with the city’s carnival, and this year will feature 14 women’s teams and 11 men’s sides from Slovakia and Hungary, as well as a children’s competition. For the first time, Beach Handball Senec will also welcome EHF referees from Romania and Bulgaria. Results and updates will be available on the Facebook event page.

On Saturday, Cyprus’ first ebt 2017 event, Petrolina Beach Tournament 2017, begins in in Foinikoudes. A total of 23 teams will participate in the competition, including local sides and one from Greece. U17 competitions in both genders will take place alongside the men’s and women’s senior tournaments.

Fans can follow the Petrolina Beach Tournament on Facebook, and watch the live stream of the finals from Sunday at 18:30 local time. The PGNiG Summer Superliga will also live stream the finals on Sunday.
