Two finalists and two newcomers in the FINAL4 draw pot

Will the last year's finalists meet already in the semi-finals this time around opening the gate to the final to one of the newcomers or will they avoid each other granting themselves a chance for a final reunion in the final? These questions will be answered on Wednesday 2 May at right noon as club representatives of the four participating teams will wittness the VELUX EHF FINAL4 draw in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cologne, Germany.

While last year's runners-up Paris Saint-Germain Handball made it to the final tournament in the LANXESS arena for the third straight time, for their two domestic rivals HBC Nantes and Montpellier HB it is going to be a rookie experience. This does not, however, deprive them of a shot at glory as the fourth participant HC Vardar is a living proof with their 2016/17 campaign crowned with the most coveted trophy.

The event at the Radisson Blu Hotel, which has been the official team hotel at every VELUX EHF FINAL4 since 2013, will start at noon - one hour after in Magdeburg the draw for the Ottostadt Magdeburg EHF Cup Finals 2018 Draw (live on ehfTV.com) will have taken place.

As a special guest Cologne mayor Henriette Reker will carry out the VELUX EHF FINAL4 Draw.

Draw Procedure

The four teams qualified from the quarter-finals will be in the pot for the draw. There will be one single pot and no protection of any kind for the teams.

The teams will be drawn as follows:

Team 1 => Team 3 => Team 2 => Team 4

Semi-finals will be played: Team 1 versus Team 2 / Team 3 versus Team 4

Where to follow

Fans will have the possibility to follow the draw on different EHF channels. The event will be streamed live on ehfTV.com as well as on the EHF Champions League Facebook page. Also available will be the liveticker on eurohandball.com and live tweeting on @ehfcl channel (#ehffinal4).
