Preliminary round for Men's 20 EHF EURO 2018 to be drawn on 19 February

NEWS: 16 teams take to the court when the Men's 20 EHF EURO 2018 is played in Celje, Slovenia from 19 to 29 July 2018. The draw will be streamed live on Youtube


Preliminary round for Men's 20 EHF EURO 2018 to be drawn on 19 February

The draw for the Men's 20 EHF EURO 2018 in Celje, Slovenia will take place on 19 February in the same city at 12:00 hrs.

16 teams participate in the final tournament, which will be played from 19 to 29 July 2018, and they will be drawn to four groups of four teams each. A live stream will be available on the EHF EURO Youtube channel.

The participants have been seeded in the following pots

  • Pot 1: France, Croatia, Germany, Slovenia
  • Pot 2: Denmark, Spain, Iceland, Serbia
  • Pot 3: Sweden, Portugal, Russia, Norway
  • Pot 4: Poland, Hungary, Israel, Romania

After the teams from post 4, 3 and 2 have been drawn, Slovenia, as organisers, have the right to choose their group. For more details also refer to the draw procedure.

Two years ago, at the Men's 18 EHF EURO 2016, France won gold ahead of Croatia and Germany. With the same generation of players, France also won the title at the Men's 19 World Championship 2017 in Georgia.
