EHF in Rome for meetings of the European Olympic Committees

The European Olympic Committees (EOC), headed by President Patrick Hickey, will hold meetings on 30 June in Italy.

European Games

The ‘European Games Feasibility Study Group’ will convene for the second time following the meeting 26 May where the President of the EHF had been invited by the EOC as a team sport representative.

EHF President Tor LianThis panel of the EOC has been created to examine the international sports calendar and check the possibility of staging European Games – following the tradition of other Continental Games.

The EHF is proud to work in cooperation with and be part of this specific study group that will shape the future of European sports. This is the recognition of the dynamic development of European handball as well as a major acknowledgement for EHF President Tor Lian.

European Youth Olympic Festival

In addition to that, as an assessment of European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) matters another important study group meeting will take place on 30 June with the participation of the EHF President and Secretary General.

The EHF has a long-term cooperation with EOC as handball is one of the sports on the EYOF programme. The next edition of EYOF is planned to take place in 2011 in Trabzon, Turkey.
